MA/RI Employee Assistance Professionals Association
The MA/RI EAPA Chapter is a professional association of members who belong to the International Employee Assistance Professionals Association and affiliate as a member of the MA/RI Chapter. The Chapter usually consists of over 100 members and is organized by an elected Board of Directors. The postions on the Board consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Labor Officer, and Immediate Past President. The officers hold a 2 year term. The Board also appoints a Membership Chairperson and an Elections Chairperson during their term of office.
Chapter meetings are typically held bi-monthly beginning in September. Meeting dates are usually scheduled for the 2nd Friday of September, November, January, March and May unless a conflict requires a schedule change. Chapter meetings include volunteer speakers on various clinical, labor-related and EAP specific topics. CEU's and PDH's are distributed to attendees at Chapter meetings.
Non-members are welcomed to attend any of the MA/RI Chapter meetings. There is an additional fee for non-members which is set for the individual meetings.
It has been a pleasure to serve on the Board of Directors for the past 8 years. I have been Board Treasurer for two 2-year terms and President for two 2-year terms as well. I am currently beginning a 2-year term as President again. I have found my involvement with the MA/RI EAPA Chapter to be both challenging and rewarding! I enjoy organizing our Chapter meetings and getting speakers to enrich our EAP knowledge and practice skills. I enjoy networking and getting our various providers/treatment facility representatives involved in sponsoring our Chapter meetings and events. I also thoroughly appreciate the teamwork that I have experienced with the various Board members with whom I have served.
EAP is near and dear to my heart as my profession. I strongly believe in the value of EAP's and the positive impact we have in today's workplaces. I hope the profession continues to grow and develop and I hope that I can play a small part in helping the field improve through my contributions on the MA/RI EAPA Chapter Board.
Thank you for all of your continued involvement and attendance at our Chapter meetings and events.
